Food truck operator killed in Cannon

A well-known caterer and member of the DTC Communications board has lost his life in a wreck in neighboring Cannon County.

Michael Anthony Alexander, 53, a DeKalb County native and Cannon County resident was killed Friday afternoon when he ran off McMinnville Highway and crashed a dump truck he was driving. According to highway patrol reports, Alexander was heading east when he ran off the road and overcorrected, the big truck shooting across the highway where it overturned, ejecting him. The wreck happened near the Cummins Hollow intersection.

Alexander is known for operating Christie BBQ, the food truck which offered its selections across this area. Along with his food business, he was a first term member of the DTC board of directors having been elected to the role in 2107.
