A pair who tried to rob a man while he was out doing yard work in front of his house have been sentenced to prison time.
Charles Robert Fults, Jr., 21, of McMinnville was ordered to serve five years in the state penitentiary for attempted aggravated robbery. His term will run at the same time as his sentence in Warren County.
Logan Tyler Martin, 22, had already been sentenced for his part in the attempted heist. He is serving a five-year sentence in the state pen. Like his co-defendant, he is serving his time along with time he owes in Warren County. Both men are under restraining orders when they get out of the lock up, barring them from going around their victim.
The incident that sent them up the river happened in April 2016 when they pulled up at a residence on McMinnville Highway where a man was doing yard work. The investigation revealed that Fults got out of the vehicle and pulled a knife on the man and demanded his wallet. The victim refused to comply, prompting Fults to back down and get back in the vehicle with Martin and flee the scene. They were pulled over in Warren County a short time later and arrested.
