Last year deprived us of many things including the annual county fair. However, this year deprivation is a thing of the past. Get ready to enjoy a full week of rides, thrills, pageants, and more at the DeKalb County Fair next week beginning Monday, July 12, 2021
As always, the carnival on the midway will provide fun, games and rides for the young and young alike. The week will be filled with pageants at the Lions Pavilion, a demolition derby, ATV races and tractor pull on the hill along with events at the new Ag Center.
Non-perishable entries for the Kenneth Sandlin Center were taken last Saturday with perishable items being taken this Saturday, July 10 from 10am-2pm. Entries must remain on display through the week of the fair and may be picked up Sunday, July 18 from 2-4 p.m. A full list of categories can be found by visiting the fair’s website at www.dekalbcountyfairtn.com.. Premium books are also available at Wilson Bank & Trust, Liberty State Bank, the Post Offices in DeKalb County, and at the UT/TSU Extension Office in Smithville.
Pageant entry deadline is this Saturday, July 10. Applications are available to pick up at the Smithville Review office, print from the fair’s Facebook page or in person Saturday 9-11 a.m.
