The DeKalb County Grand Jury was in session last Wednesday, July 9, and handed down 10 indictments. There were no sealed indictments this session.
Karri Margaret Jewells was indicted for tampering with evidence for a case that occurred on or about the 12th day of May, 2025. The indictment alleges that Jewells, with the knowledge that an investigation or official proceeding was pending or in progress, did intentionally or knowingly conceal evidence, methamphetamine, with the intent to impair its availability as evidence in the investigation or official proceeding.
Cory Michael Maeswas indicted for DUI: first offense and DUI per se, for a case on or about the 19th day of January, 2025.
Bobby Randall Moore was indicted for aggravated assault-use or display deadly weapon. The indictment alleges that on the 17th day of December, 2024, in DeKalb County, Moore unlawfully and intentionally or knowingly caused the victim to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury while utilizing a knife.
Melinda Beth Murphy was charged with fraudulent use of credit/debit card from $1,000 to $2,500. The indictment alleges that between March 31 and April 1, 2025, in Dekalb County, Murphy unlawfully and knowingly used of an EBT card, belonging to another person and without the consent of said person, to obtain food stamps the value of $1,065.27, from Wal-Mart.
Amber Denyse Rice was indicted for DUI first offense, for an incident that occurred on February 19, 2025.
Thomas Carl Weaver, Jr. was indicted for DUI: first offense, DUI per se, and DUI: fourth offense, for an incident that occurred on the 14th day of December, 2024.
Destry Jordan Wiggins was charged with DUI and DUI per se for an incident that occurred on March 31, 2024.
Dustin Lee Williamson was indicted for DUI for an incident that occurred on July 21, 2024.
Jan Marie Winchester was charged with driving while license suspended/canceled/revoked for a case that happened on the 8th day of October, 2024.
Izayah Will Young was indicted for aggravated assault, vandalism up to $1,000, and possession of a weapon with intent to go armed-prohibited under 21.
The indictment alleges that on or about the 13th day of January, 2025, in DeKalb County, Young caused the victim to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury while displaying a deadly weapon, a gun.
It also alleges that Young caused damage to, or the destruction of, real or personal property of the victim, a busted driver's side window valued at an amount less than $1,000, and possessed a firearm, with the intent to go armed, in a place open to the public where (1) one or more persons was present.
