Slick pavement left behind by intermittent showers Wednesday afternoon led to a one car crash on Smithville Highway which left the vehicle resting on his top.
All of the passengers in the car escaped injury and were out of the vehicle by the time emergency services arrived. The driver, who has not been identified as the investigation continues, apparently lost control as the car rounded a turn on the rainslick two-lane highway just after 3:30 p.m. The car then struck a culvert in front of a residence in the 3000-block of the road and overturned onto its roof just off the southbound lane of the highway.
