Several people were arrested by deputies over the past week, their arrests ranging from a biting inmate to a female burglar who cleaned out a house on Jefferson Road.
Included in county arrests:
Sy James Gohs, 20, of Dowelltown is charged with assault and bringing contraband into a penal institution. He allegedly bit a correctional officer on the right knee during a disturbance at the jail where he was an inmate. He also found to possess a shank (a jail made knife).
Jack David Taylor, 54, of Dowelltown is charged with domestic assault. He was arrested after a deputy went to a location on New Home Road where a female told him that Taylor had hit her in the head with his fist. The deputy noted the injuries and arrested Taylor.
Lara Cheyenne Rigsby, 25, of McMinnville is charged with theft, forgery, vandalism, and aggravated burglary. She is charged with forging a check for $200. She is also charged with taking a range, a mini-fridge, 32-inch TV, a Dell computer, sewing machine, riding mower, 2007 Nissan Frontier, a gun, electric tools, washer and drier from a residence on Jefferson Road. Total value was over $28,000. The damage to the Frontier was over $4,000. She is also charged with causing $5,200 to the residence she illegally entered.
Tiahra Yesenia Johnson, 29, of Watertown is charged with public intoxication. A deputy made contact with her on Nashville Highway and noticed she was under the influence.
Kyle Robert Johnson, 28, of Watertown is charged with domestic assault, assault, and resisting stop. A deputy saw Johnson’s SUV going at a high rate of speed before sliding to a stop. The officer saw Mr. Johnson throw someone out of the vehicle and then pin him by the neck against the SUV while it was stopped. Witnesses said they saw Johnson strike Tiahra Johnson by striking her with the back of his hand. Mr. Johnson kicked the inside of the patrol car once he was put in the backseat.
Amy Lynn Hall, 41, of Sparta is charged with being a fugitive from justice. She was arrested for failing to appear in court out of Bartow County, Ga. She was found at the scene of an accident, prompting her license to be run, causing a hit on the national crime computer.
