DeKalb County Libraries updated services

Justin Potter and Alexandria Libraries will continue with curbside services until further notices. The libraries appreciate donations of books and movies, but due to the lack of space and the items having to be quarantined we are not taking any donations at this time. The libraries will be closed for services to the public for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 18. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time for all of us. We are looking forward to better days ahead for everyone. Upper Cumberland Development Announcement

 Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll free at 1-877-275-8233. A support group will meet will be held for relatives that are caring for relative children during the month of January 2021. Please contact Melissa Allison at 931-476-4127. The monthly meeting of the L.B.J. & C. Head Start Policy Council has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 2021 beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, TN.

The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Captain Sally Tomkins 2123 will have its monthly meeting Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the upper level of the Putnam County Library.

The L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation Board of Director’s will hold their bi- monthly meeting Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, TN. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

 

Sobriety Checkpoints, Feb. 12

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint February 12, 2021 on State Route 96 in DeKalb County.

 

DeKalb Youth Baseball Signups starting, Jan. 30

The DeKalb Youth Baseball signups will be held at the County Complex UT Extension Office, 722 South Congress Boulevard, Smithville on January 30, February 6, 13 and 20th. Registration fees are $65 per child and $50 for each sibling. Please bring proof of player age and proof of residency. Player ages determined by what age player is as of May 1, 2021.
