A local businessman and club owner has found himself in trouble with the law after being named in a DeKalb County Grand Jury sealed indictment for drug charges.
According to the indictment, 49-year-old Anthony (Turtle) Brian Johnson of Lodge Street, Liberty, was arrested on April 4, for two counts of sell of a schedule IV drug sale of a schedule IV drug (Alprazolam), and two counts of delivery of a schedule IV drug (Alprazolam). Johnson is the owner of Turtles Bar and Grill on Sparta Highway in Smithville.
The indictment alleges that on March 24, 2022, and April 20, 2022, Johnson did knowingly and unlawfully sell and deliver Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.
Johnson’s is under a $75,000 and he will appear in court on Monday, April 10, in DeKalb County Criminal Court. The cases were investigated by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department Detectives and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
