Johnson Named Safety Director
Johnson

The County Commission met on Monday, January 24, for its regular monthly meeting, and during the proceedings adopted a resolution to establish an updated Occupational Safety and Health Program Plan. The plan establishes rules and regulations, and provides for a Safety Director to implement training of employees in the workplace within all county departments.

The commission named Kristie Johnson as Safety Director, which is a part-time position at $100 per week. Funds have already been budgeted to pay Johnson for the position.

Also during the meeting, the commission reappointed DeKalb County Fire Chief Donny Green and Assistant Chief Anthony Boyd for another year. The department unanimously voted to recommend the reappointments, which are approved each year.
