Lebanon Man Indicted

The DeKalb County Grand Jury indicted a Lebanon man last week, charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a six year old child. The sealed indictment was made on July 18, and he was arrested that same day.

Authorities allege that between the dates of May 1, 2013 and May 1, 2014 in DeKalb County, 34-year-old John David Stoops, Jr., of South Maple Street, Lebanon, twice intentionally, knowingly, and unlawfully accomplished sexual contact with a person less than 13 years of age. The victim in the case was born on December 15, 2006.

The indictment also alleges that Stoops preyed on the child a third time between January 1 and December 1, 2016, when the child was 9 years old.

Stoops is being held under a $125,000 bond, and is set to appear in court on August 1, 2022.

Twenty-six other people were indicted by the DeKalb County Grand Jury last week, all set to appear in in criminal court on August 1.

Marty Eugene Lance - possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II drug, methamphetamine over 0.5 grams, and driving on a revoked license.

Joshua Joel Bain - domestic assault.

Shawn Edward Soales - theft of services over $2,500.

Terrence Brock Moore - evading arrest.

Timmy Jay Barnes - driving under the influence.

Kenneth Adam Wright - reckless endangerment, evading arrest, evading arrest with vehicle, burglary, auto burglary, theft of property over 2,500, and vandalism over $1,000.

Kaitlyn Brianna Bain and Seth Garrett Dawson - theft over $1,000.

Micah Daniel Murphy: tampering with evidence.

Dalton Grady Moore - driving under the influence.

James Byron Newton - driving under the influence (2nd offense) and DUI per se.

Jeffery Lynn Sanders - theft of property under $1,000, vandalism under $1,000, and criminal trespassing.

Michael Allen Johnson - vandalism under $1,000.

Kenny Waymon Dyal, Jr. - vandalism under $1,000.

Emma Katherine Alverson – two counts aggravated burglary, and theft over $2,500.

Marcie Jean Alsobrooks - driving under the influence and DUI per se.

Lena Michelle Santana - driving under the influence, DUI per se, and simple possession of a schedule VI drug marijuana.

Sean Stephen Bess - aggravated burglary, theft over $1,000, and four counts of forgery.

Daniel Ray Wilson - burglary and theft of property over $2,500. On October 24, 2021, 37-year-old Daniel Ray Wilson of Yolanda Hill Road, Smithville, was arrested for burglary and theft of property after he allegedly broke into a school building and made away with some sporting equipment.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, on October 4, 2021, Wilson entered the DeKalb County High School Girls’ softball concession stand locker room, located on West Broad Street in Smithville, with the intent to deprive the DeKalb County School softball team, numerous student athletes, and parents of numerous items with a value of totaling $4,561. Ray said that bats, ball gloves, helmets, fielding masks, ballbags, and numerous other items were taken in the crime. No damage was done to the building.

Johnathan Dewayne Barnes - driving on revoked license 7th offense.

Shane Daniel Gray - possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II drug methamphetamine over 0.5 grams, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of prohibited weapons.

Skylar James Pease - possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI drug marijuana.

Jimmy Mason Page – filing a false report.

Dickie Ray Bain - possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II drug methamphetamine over 0.5 grams.

Justice Namen Williams - driving under the influence 2nd offense and driving on a revoked license.
