A local woman is on a mission to help local families in need, taking upon herself to help kids have a fun time during Halloween. Brittany Vincent of Smithville has been taking donations at the Smithville Save-A-Lot, and through social media, to provide costumes to families that otherwise would not be able to afford it.

“I feel like some people are struggling and need that little bit of relief to help their kids and make their kids happy,” Vincent told the Smithville Review. “COVID has played a part, but even without COVID some people just struggle.”

In addition to helping during the Halloween holiday, Vincent is also trying to help some families during Thanksgiving. She is setting up food drives and taking donations to help a couple of families that she has chosen to assist.

“I’ve been in a struggle for most of my life,” Vincent explained. “If I can help I want to help.”

If someone wants to donate items, Vincent said she can be reached through social media or texts. “They can get ahold of me through Facebook Messenger (facebook.com/bbogle3) and I will pick it up from them. They can also text me at 615-580-0907,” she explained.

As for the Halloween costumes, Vincent plans to give the costumes away to kids in need on Thursday, October 28, at 1:15 p.m. at the Save-A-Lot parking lot in Smithville.
