Jeremiah Daniel Martin, 28, was arrested for aggravated assault. Police responded to the ER in reference to a man with a broken jaw. Upon investigation it was determined that Martin and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical when the victim walked away and Martin punch the victim in the right side of his face causing the jaw to break and a bone to break through the inside of his mouth leaving it exposed.
Matthew Allen White, 23, was arrested for the theft that occurred on 4/19/19 at Jewel’s Market. Upon investigation it was discovered that White had taken the property to his residence and had it in is possession. The merchandise was recovered and released to the owner of the store.
Christopher Eugene Layne, 32, was arrested for Public Intoxication. Police responded to a residence on Bright Hill Road for a welfare check on an unresponsive male who had been asleep in a pickup for over an hour. He was identified as Christopher Layne and was unable to answer questions and was uncooperative for EMS and was was still in a severely intoxicated state. Officers made every attempt to find a place for him to go where he would not place himself or others in danger. After speaking with Layne and being unable to communicate with him due to his intoxicated state, he was placed under arrest for public intoxication for his own safety.
Joshua Lynn Mccowan, 34, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Violation of Probation and cited for Simple Possession.Police responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a possible intoxicated person. The officer made contact with Mccowan and a computer check with Central Dispatched revealed a warrant out DeKalb County for Violation of Probation. Search incident to arrest revealed approximately 1.5 grams of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine was found in his right pants pocket along with a needle with 5 units of a liquid substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine. Baltazar Fransico Pascual, 50, of Monterey was cited for improper passing of a school bus. Police observed Pascual driving a vehicle that did not stop for a school bus traveling in the opposite direction. The lights on the bus were flashing red and the sign was displayed.
Brandon Lynn Tallent, 35, was arrested for Driving on Revoked. Police observed Tallent driving a truck in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. The officer had prior knowledge of Tallent having a revoked license as he was arrested four days prior on the same charge by deputies.
Stephanie Michelle Mooneyham, 27, was arrested for Domestic Assault. Police responded to a residence and spoke with the victim who informed him that Mooneyham had slapped him on the face over a cigarette. Two other people next door did witness the assault occur.
Rickey L Shehane, 55, was arrested for violating an Order of Protection. While looking for a subject of another call the officer spotted Shehane on the property of 309 Wade Street. The officer knew from past checks that an Order of Protection had been in effect and stopped at the property to speak to Shehane. A computer check revealed the order to still be active. Shehane was in the kitchen of the residence and the victim of the order was in the Livingroom. Shehane was not to be around the victim and he was taken into custody without incident.
Brandon Edward Smith, 38, was cited for Simple Possession of Methamphetamine. Smith was arrested on an active warrant and search incident to arrest revealed him to have .2 grams of a clear crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine on his person.
