Man wants to make clean sweep, woman wants Tequila Sunrise
Police see it all this past week

From a burglar who wanted to make a clean sweep to a woman who just wanted to enjoy at Tequila Sunrise, Smithville Police seen it all this past week, making several arrests and issuing citations.

Included in the recent crime report in the city:

 

Kyle Aaron Smith, 32, was arrested for Aggravated Burglary. Smith was seen entering the victim’s apartment located at 223 East Bryant Street without consent and removing a vacuum cleaner and taking it to his apartment which is next door to the victim. The victim did not give Smith consent to enter the apartment or remove any item from his apartment. The vacuum was recovered and returned to the victim.

 

Adam Shane Kizer, 47, of Mt. Juliet was cited for shoplifting. Kizer was observed by a Dollar Store employee taking a can of air freshener out of the package and placing it inside his pocket.

 

Rhonda Denise McPeak, 53, was arrested for Driving on Revoked and cited for light law. While on patrol the officer observed a vehicle being driven with no headlights and made a traffic stop. The officer spoke with the driver found to be McPeak and upon a computer check with Central Dispatch was informed that McPeak was operating a vehicle without license due to them being revoked for a DUI in 1984 out of Rutherford County.

 

Jackie Lynn Davidson, 42, was arrested for DUI. Police stopped Davidson for speeding and upon speaking with her the officer asked her several questions in which she could not answer adequately. The officer noticed an open container of Vodka sitting in the passenger’s seat and she was asked to step out of the vehicle and for field sobriety tasks to which she consented to and failed to perform. Davidson did have an odor of alcohol on her person and she was taken into custody for Driving under the Influence. Davidson could not show proof of insurance at which time she was cited for Speeding, Financial Responsibility and Open Container.

 

Myrano S Waller, 24, was arrested for two counts of theft. Police responded to Center Hill Wine and Spirits due to a female that had walked into the store and took a bottle of Tequila and left without paying. The employee had seen the female in the store on an earlier occasion where she had taken a bottle of Vodka and concealed the property in her pants then left the store. Due to an ongoing investigation from the January incident police had a description of the vehicle and had tried to make contact with the owner previously so when this incident occurred, police requested a DeKalb County Deputy to respond to the residence where he stopped the car and spoke with the female identified as Waller. The bottle of Tequila was found under the driver’s seat at which time Waller was taken into custody.

 

Benito Drew Castorena, 20, was arrested for Aggravated Assault. Police spoke with the victim who stated that her ex-boyfriend, Castorena had strangled her and punched her face while at his residence to retrieve some belongings. She had bruising on her ears and red marks around her neck. Upon investigation it was determined that Castorena was the primary aggressor and was taken into custody.

 

Michael Pierre Rose, 34, was arrested for Theft, Vandalism, and Simple Possession. Police responded to Park & Wash Laundry Mat for a theft of a candy vending machine and vandalism of 3 security cameras. Rose can be seen on a camera committing these crimes. Warrants were issued for his arrest later this day. An officer saw and stopped Rose as he had knowledge of the warrants and after placing Rose in handcuffs the officer was informed that there may be something in his (Rose) cigarette pack. A crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was found inside the pack. A citation was issued for Simple Possession but Rose refused to sign the citation at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest for Simple Possession.
