A McMinnville woman is in big trouble with the law after she was charged with multiple crimes, including drug and burglary offenses.
Sheriff Patrick Ray told the Smithville Review that 50-year-old Patsy Lynn Estes McCoy of Highland Drive, McMinnville, has been charged with two counts of methamphetamine manufacture sell deliver or possess, aggravated burglary, theft of property under $1,000, assault, vandalism, simple possession of a schedule IV drug, and introducing contraband into a penal institution. She is being held under a $141,000 bond.
On March 30, authorities allege that McCoy entered a residence located on Yolanda Hills Road in Smithville without the property owner’s consent. McCoy allegedly vandalized a back screen door to enter the residence, with the intent to commit theft of property. McCoy allegedly also committed assault by intentionally causing physical contact by punching a female in the chest after a verbal argument occurred when McCoy was found stealing property.
During her arrest, two clear containers containing a crystal-like substance believed to be meth was located in a yellow bag that McCoy was carrying on her person. Authorities say the weight of the substances was 5 grams and 17 grams. She also reportedly possessed 15 and ¾ white pills that had a code of GG249 that came back as Alprazolam Xanax. The pills were located in a clear container with no prescription label.
Sheriff Ray said that McCoy was asked if she had anything on her before entering the DeKalb County Jail facility, and she stated “No.” Once inside the facility, McCoy was searched and 5 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be meth was located in a clear tube in a yellow bag, which she knew was going into the facility with her.
