Several arrests were made over the past week by sheriff’s department officers. Included in county arrests:
Danny Ray Murphy, 37, is charged with possession of methamphetamine. His pickup was stopped on North Congress. A total of 8.8 grams was found in Murphy’s pocket and sock in separate baggies. Scales, needles and pipes were also found during the search.
James Walter Stringer, 42, of Liberty is charged with violation of the sex offender law. He is charged because he did not report to the sex offender registry for his quarterly register. He is required to report regularly to the sheriff’s office as part of his being on the state registry.
Mark William Green, 38, of Carthage is charged with possession of meth. His was arrested after lawmen went to Smith Fork to investigate a truck accident. Green reportedly drove away from the crash but was found passed out at the wheel by a deputy. The driver, once awoken, admitted to taking Xanax. A search netted an ounce of meth.
Byron Ray Gibbs, 33, of Alexandria is charged with driving on a revoked license. He was pulled over on West Broad after a deputy saw him driving and knew he did not have a license.
Christopher Ronald Cameron, 22, is charged with fourth-offense driving on a revoked license. He was stopped by a deputy and a driver license check revealed he was revoked for violation of the insurance law.
Gary Jack Malone, 71, is charged with drunk driving. He was stopped on New Year’s night after he bright-lighted a deputy as he approached from the other direction. He was found to be under the influence.
Tammie Sue Thacker, 54, is charged with assault. Thacker grabbed the deputy by his shirt when he arrived at her home on a civil issue.
Theresa Michelle Moss, 34, is charged for third-offense driving on a revoked license. She was pulled over on Nashville Highway for failing to hold her lane of travel. She was found to be on revoked for failing to pay a prior ticket.
