A motorcyclist was killed near Sligo Bridge Monday afternoon when he crashed into the guard rail.

The man, Zane Jefferson, 20, died at the scene of the 1:30 p.m. crash which happened on Sparta Highway, a few yards on the Smithville side of Sligo Bridge. Investigators say he failed to negotiate a curve on his Suzuki and slid into a guard rail as he was headed westbound. He was wearing a helmet.
