Well, this is Wednesday the day before July 4th and believe me, it's a scorcher.

Kathy Nokes stopped by for a few minutes today.  We were talking about the "fall yard sale" Beverly Hubler and I plan on having sometime in September when maybe it won't be so hot on everybody.  The items will be priced low.

It was another fishing expedition on Wednesday for Bill Nokes and Russell Taylor.  Even the hot temperatures didn't stop them from catching a nice mess of fish.

Rick and Beverly Hubler came by for a visit on Thursday.

So peaceful out on our patio this evening.  Only the sounds of nature can I hear as the fireworks have stopped going off.  It appears that mockingbirds are living up to their reputation of being mean and troublemakers.  There are several of them chasing after the smaller birds.  I've got more rabbits than I need running about.  One lone chicken in our ditch line, but I figure one would be all I would need for a delicious meal.  Alas, it's my neighbor's so it doesn't have to
worry about me plucking it.  I can remember our "Mom" trying to run down a chicken so we could have chicken and dumplings for a meal. When I say those were "better days" when I was at home growing up, I truly mean it.

It really disturbs me to see how our society is in such moral decay now.  People just don't care what they say or do.  Our nation was once a Godly and proud nation.  It's not that anymore.  If we don't turn back to God, we are doomed.  Our problems, I believe, started in the home.  If kids are brought up in reverence for God and his son, Jesus Christ, then the lives they will live will be wholesome and they will have a solid biblical foundation that will guide them in making the right decisions in their life.  Parents should be taking them to church at an early age.  That is our duty to bring them up in the knowledge of God and his word, the Bible.  Jesus shed His precious
blood on the cross for all of us so we could be forgiven of our sins. Tell your children of Jesus' sacrifice and how much He loves us.  We all need Jesus in our lives especially with what is being thrown at us in these last days.  Standing firm and standing your ground you will
come out the winner when all is said and done.
Let's keep praying for the following people:  Diane Evans, Mary Melton, Tracy Neal, Rose Watts, Charlie Mai Daniel, Walter and Faye Ferrell, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country and the families of Randall "Pappy" Taylor, Alvin Armour, Donald Lawson, Duane Solomon, and Glenn Delmar Byford in the loss of their dear loved ones.

Have a great day!

Fret not thyself because of evildoers neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  Psalm 37:1-4
