DeKalb and Cannon Counties, TN – This fall, the artists of Middle Tennessee invite art enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to experience the 25th annual Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour. Held on the last full weekend in October, from Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27, 2024, this free three-day open studio event offers a unique chance to explore the heart of DeKalb and Cannon Counties while witnessing the creativity and craftsmanship of local artists.
Now in its 25th year, the Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour has flourished, growing to feature more than 25 artists. Each stop on the tour provides visitors with the opportunity to meet artists in their studios, see live demonstrations, and shop for one-of-a-kind, handcrafted treasures.
Eight of the participating artists are also esteemed teaching artists, often sharing their skills at prestigious institutions such as Vanderbilt University, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Tennessee Tech University, and the John C. Campbell Folk School. Furthermore, several of the artists on the tour, including Claudia Lee, Jeanne Brady, and Louis Colombarini, have served as Masters in the Tennessee Arts Commission and Tennessee Craft Artist and Apprentice program, lending their expertise and guidance to up-and-coming artists.
“We are thrilled to celebrate such an incredible milestone,” said Jennifer Folsom, President of the Off the Beaten Path Board. “This tour is a beloved tradition, not only for the artists involved but also for the many visitors who return year after year to see what new creations are on display.”
OTBP Artists would like to extend heartfelt thanks to community sponsors. Their generous support is essential to making this event possible. A full list of sponsors can be found on the tour website.
From pottery and woodworking to painting, glass art, and more, the diverse range of artistic expressions ensures there’s something for everyone.
