A couple caught on video have been nabbed for auto burglary after they allegedly broke into a van belonging to a funeral home.

The suspects, Ernest R. Mashburn Jr., 41, and Heather L. Standridge, 28, are both charges with burglary and theft.

Employees of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home discovered someone had entered their van and that things had been scattered about inside the vehicle. A witness came forward to report they had seen a suspicious man around the van and it was then found the van had been parked in an area covered by video surveillance at the time of the heist.

Police viewed the video and were able to identify the suspects. “The male and female are seen on the video, entering the van and taking items out of it,” the police report revealed.

The suspects were caught walking near Omega Apparel and taken into custody. Police were then able to recover the items, including a gun, that had been taken from the funeral home van.
