Several people responsible for local burglaries and thefts were sentenced in DeKalb County Criminal Court last week, receiving prison time and fines.

Gregory Michael Patton, 47, pled guilty to aggravated burglary and theft over $10,000, and received a three-year sentence in the burglary case, and five years for the theft, to be run consecutively for a total of eight years. The sentence is to be run concurrently with a Robertson County case.

Patton is to serve at least 30 percent of the sentence before he is eligible for parole and the case is to be furloughed to the 13th Judicial District Recovery Court. He was given jail credit of 497 days.

According to DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray, on June 11, 2020, Patton broke into a home on Adcock Cemetery Road and stole $1,000 of property and a 2015 Toyota Corolla valued at $12,000.

Two people responsible for a recent rash of burglaries and thefts from a Nashville Highway storage business were also sentenced last week.

Jessie Danielle Murphy, 23, of Fisher Avenue, Smithville, pled to five counts of burglary. She received two years in one count, and four years in four other counts, all suspended and to run concurrently. She will be on supervised probation.

Murphy was ordered to pay restitution in the amounts of $60, $95, $1,000, $1,450, and $4,430 jointly and severally with her co-defendant. She was given jail credit for 143 days.

Her co-defendant, 24-year-old Nicholas Braedan Booher of Byrdstown, pled on May 2 to five counts of burglary other than a habitation and received a four-year sentence in each case to run concurrently with each other for a total of four years, but he will be on probation. The sentence is to run consecutively to a Pickett County Criminal Court violation of probation case against him. He was given jail credit of 70 days.

Booher and Murphy, 23, of Smithville racked up five burglary and five theft of property charges each after taking over a combined total of $10,775 of property from storage building on Nashville Highway. They were arrested on Feb. 24. 

The case was investigated by Sheriff’s detectives and found that on Jan. 5 and Feb. 17, Booher and Murphy entered multiple storage units and took a storage unit, black safe, a diamond wedding band, four silver bars, gold class ring, two firearms, assorted currency, jewelry, clothes and assorted items. Also he took several tools, 40” smart TV, plates and antique chairs, three Easter baskets with content, a Halloween basket and a master lock, a green air compressor and a master lock.

Also in DeKalb Criminal Court, 20-year-old Triveon Crutcher pled to attempted aggravated assault and received a two-year sentence all suspended to supervised probation and judicial diversion.

Dusten Ryan O’Conner, 39, pled guilty to reckless aggravated assault and received a two-year TDOC sentence suspended to supervised probation on judicial diversion.

Jimmy Page, 48, pled guilty to filing a false report and received a sentence of three years all suspended to supervised probation to run concurrently with a general sessions court violation of probation against him.

Candace Walker, 44, pled guilty to DUI first offense and received 11 months and 29 days all suspended to supervised probation except for seven days to serve. She will lose her driver license for one year and must attend alcohol and drug assessment and DUI school. She was also fined $360.
