Three people were arrested last week after a string of vandalism struck a local park and church property. Two 19-year-olds and a minor were taken into custody for the crimes.

According to Smithville Police Chief Mark Collins, 19-year-old Daisy Morales and 19-year-old Alex Diaz Vidal have each been charged in the case, along with a juvenile. Each face charges of vandalism under $1,000.

Authorities say that the three spray painted graffiti on the amphitheater and playground equipment at Greenbrook Park, on Monday September 19, or early the following morning. They are also accused of traveling to Bethlehem Community Church on Dry Creek Road, and spray paint property there as well.

In the police report, a member of the Bethlehem Community Church told police that sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19 and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, someone spray painted graffiti on the exterior walls of the church.

Greenbrook Park, was closed two days after the incident so a cleanup could be performed. Both Morales and Vidal have been released on their own recognizance and will appear in General Sessions Court on October 6.
