A local man is facing second-degree murder charges in Warren County for the January 2023 death of his girlfriend.

A Warren County Grand Jury has indicted 38-year-old Michael Brandon Redman, and a yet to be named co-defendant, through a sealed indictment on July 14, charging them with second degree murder and aggravated assault. The victim in the case is 39-year-old Robin Lynn Crouch Emigh of Warren County.

According to the indictment, “Michael Brandon Redmon, on or about the 27th day of January, 2023, did kill Robin Emigh, constituting the offense of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A” Felony.”

Count two against Redmon alleges that “On or about the 27th day of January, 2023 in Warren County and before the finding of this indictment, Redmon did commit an assault intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury to another, to wit: Robin Emigh, and the assault involved strangulation or attempted strangulation constituting the offense of Aggravated Assault, a Class “C” Felony.”

Robin Emigh had been in the news only a couple of weeks before her death after she fell through the ceiling at a Taco Bell in McMinnville.

According to Officer Brad Hall, the McMinnville Police Department responded to a suspicious person call at Taco Bell on Smithville Hwy. Hall said, “The complainant was the manager, Terra Gardenhire, who stated that while she was eating dinner in the dining room a person fell through the ceiling. She stated that the person was wearing all white and ran out of the business toward Burch Supply.”

The woman was later identified as Emigh when she was reportedly found behind the Citgo/Pump and Pay West on Smithville Hwy. by Lt. Ben Cantrell.

Emigh was reported as acting erratic, having slurred speech, making jerking movements, and appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance. When she was asked why she was in the ceiling, she reportedly stated that she did not know that she was in the ceiling of Taco Bell.

Redmon is also known to law enforcement, especially in DeKalb County after having made threats against the sheriff at his home.

After being released from jail in 2017, Redmon left a note at the home of DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray on which he signed his name.  Redmon went to Sheriff Ray’s home in DeKalb County on two separate occasions, watching the house, beating on the front door and defacing the driveway, sidewalk and porch with white paint. Ray was not at home when the incident occurred, but his wife was there and called him.

“My wife was walking out to her vehicle to go to work when she noticed a note stuck on my county vehicle with a big sticker. It was from Michael Redmon, and it had his name on there a couple of times,” said Sheriff Ray.

According to the sheriff, Redmon had been arrested by the Smithville Police Department for theft of property and was released after posting bond.

The murder case is still under investigation with no other details having been released. Redmon was arrested on July 17, and is under a $150,000 bond.
