The DeKalb County School Board tackled a light agenda during their regular monthly meeting last Thursday, setting the graduation date for the high school, and announcing the personnel report.

Following the recommendation of DCHS Principal Bruce Curtis, set the date for the upcoming 2022 graduation ceremony for Friday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. on VanHooser Memorial Stadium at the high school.

The Lady Tiger and Tiger basketball program is seeking permission to apply for a tournament in Indiana next season, in the stadium where the movie “Hoosiers” was filmed. They are requesting to be put on a waiting list to see if they are selected to play in the tournament. The board voted to allow the application.

Director Patrick Cripps then announced the personnel report, stating that Heather Swingler had been hired as a teacher at Smithville Elementary School, while Kady Moffett had resigned as teacher at SES. Chelsey Cooksey and Lacey Foutch were each granted a requested leave of absence.
