With roads being overtaken by flood waters around the area, DeKalb County Schools will be closed Thursday.

Flooding conditions have forced the closure of DeKalb County Schools Thursday. The closure comes after the mid-state was pelted by several inches of rain that forced closure of several areas roads that are prone to flooding. While Thursday looks to be a drier day, Friday and Saturday are forecast to be wet with strong storms expected Saturday as the temperature is expected to reach into the 70's. The rain, expected to continue through Saturday once it resumes Friday will likely exacerbate any flooding conditions which already exists. Law enforcement is encouraging motorists to use extreme caution about standing or ponding water and to "turn around and don't drown" when approaching any roads that have been overtaken by flood waters.
