DeKalb County Schools, July 28, 29

DeKalb County Schools will re-open with student registration on Monday, August 2. The first full day of school will be Wednesday, August 4. A system-wide in-service for all staff will be Tuesday, July 27 and at the individual schools Wednesday and Thursday July 28 & 29. An administrative day for teachers only will be Tuesday, August 3, 2021.

 

 

DeKalb County Wellness Commission, July 27

Driver’s License Roadside safety checkpoint, July 30

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a driver license checkpoint July 30, 2021 on State Route 96 in DeKalb County. Recognizing the danger presented to the public drivers that are under the influence and unqualified drivers that violate the driver license laws of Tennessee. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found driver license to be an effective means of enforcing driver license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorist.

Wakefield – Parkhurst Reunion

This is the 72nd annual reunion for Wakefield-Parkhurst families. The reunion will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Wilson County fairgrounds in the Veteran’s Building ( near Fiddlers Grove), 945 East Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087.

Blood Drive, July 30

A Blood Assurance drive is set for Friday, July 30, 2021. The blood drive will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. outside in the parking lot of the Family Medical Center in the bloodmobile. You may schedule an appointment at www.bloodassurance.org/familymedctr. You may also contact Michiko Martin concerning the blood drive at 615-597-4395 or mmartin@dtccom.net. Remember to eat a good meal, drink additional water, and avoid energy drinks and bring a photo ID. Donors can now download the BA App and answer their health questions prior to coming to the bus. Just download “bloodassurancequickscreen” and answer the questions to the end hit DONE day of the blood drive. This will save you 10 minutes on the bus. All donors will be given an “Adventure Begins” Cooler Bag and entered into a drawing for a “2021” Side by Side ATV. All donors will also receive a $10 Papa John’s Pizza gift card. Blood Assurance is the sole blood provider for the local hospitals and your donation is needed for an adequate supply.
