Before walking the aisle at graduation
Friday night, seniors from DeKalb County High School renewed a time-honored
tradition and walked the hallways Thursday, taking a trip down memory lane as
many of them returned to where it all started – Smithville Elementary and West
School.
The annual senior walk was held Thursday
morning, beginning with SES where students packed the halls in eager
anticipation, waving signs they made as the graduates passed by, decked out in
their graduation garb. Many students were thrilled to get hi-fives from the
seniors as they passed in the thin hallways at SES.
After a circuit at SES, the seniors boarded the school buses and headed out to Liberty where they walked the halls for the West students.
The senior walk is a tradition that allows
seniors to say farewell to their alma mater while at the same time inspiring
the young students at the school as they see the seniors on the verge of
graduation.
