Warde



A knife fight resulted in the arrest of one woman and an injury to another. According to Smithville Police, 25-year-old Megan Lynn Warden was arrested for aggravated assault on October 13.

Police say that Warden and the victim got into an argument behind the residence of 624 Highland Street and during the confrontation, Warden pulled out a knife and cut the victim on her face and jawline.

Warden is under a $5,000 bond and her court date is October 27.

Burnette Bernie Jones, 53, was arrested on October 2, for violation of an Order of Protection. Police say that Jones is the respondent in an active Order of Protection and did go to the victim’s hotel room and beat his fist on the door yelling and placing her in fear.

Furthermore, he had also had several incidents of indirect communication with the victim prior to this incident. His bond is $20,000 and he is due in court on October 27.

Christopher Brock Tatrow, 35, was arrested the following day for Public intoxication and Assault. Police responded to Pedigo’s Used and New for a possible assault and made contact with Tatrow at the corner of South Mountain and West Broad Street.

Police say that Tatrow did have an open 24-ounce Corona Extra that was half full. He was talking out of his head and not making any sense.

Upon investigation of the possible assault, the officer discovered the victim was looking at furniture outside the store when Tatrow aggressively came at her, grabbing her by her left arm that she just had surgery on, then calls her baby and started to grab her in the chest area. The victim pulled away and started running away from the situation.

His bond is set at $5,000.

Jeremiah Jason Mullins, 18, was cited on October 4 for Vandalism. Police allege that Mullins can be seen on video running away from a house on West Main Street after throwing a rock at a residence and breaking the glass storm door. He is due in court on November 10.

Joseph Paul Deskins, 42, was arrested on October 6 for DUI. Deskins was pulled over not maintaining lane of travel and the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and when asked to step out of the vehicle, he was unsteady on his feet. He was asked and consented to Sobriety Tasks to which he performed poorly. He is under a $3,500 bond and due in court on October 27.

On October 12, 40-year-old Tolesha Alberta Slone was cited for Assault. Police responded to an assault call at Smithville Market on West Broad Street and upon investigation, police say that Slone had slapped and threw gasoline on the victim. Slone is due in court on November 3.

On October 16, 49-year-old Mariano Del Angle Reyes was arrested for DUI and cited for no Driver’s License. Police were dispatched to a possible motor vehicle crash with injuries. Once officers arrived on scene they found a single vehicle on its side in the creek bed in front of Smithville Church of God.

Once the driver, identified as Reyes, was finally out of the vehicle, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. He was asked and consented to Sobriety Tasks to which he performed poorly. A computer check revealed that Reyes is not a licensed driver. His bond is set at $1,500 and he is set to appear in court on November 3.
