Sticks and stones may break my bones and they may also get you charged with a felony.
Ask Whitney Leann Patton, 29, of Liberty who could be looking at three to six years in the state pen for aggravated assault.
According to sheriff’s department reports, Patton went medieval with a baseball bat on a vehicle belonging to a woman she knew while the victim was still inside the car. The reason for the confrontation is unknown although the sheriff said the incident is going down as a domestic incident.
Although not hurt as Patton beat out the windows of her car with a bat, the felony charge was taken against the bat swinger because the attack put the victim in fear that she could suffer serious bodily injury from the business end of the baseball bat.
The attack, warrants revealed, did not stop when the victim left the scene in her battered car to call 911. Patton reportedly followed her and then threw a rock at her already smashed windshield.
