After two full weeks of students being back to school, an unknown number of students have tested positive for the novel corona virus.
Director of School Patrick Cripps told the Review on Friday there were positive cases, and that they are following protocols set forth by the CDC and Tennessee Department of Health.
“We appreciate everyone’s hard work and patience during the process. We will continue to put our students, faculty and staff safety first and foremost,” Director Cripps said.
Cripps would not give an exact number of students who have tested positive.
Students were scheduled to return to classes on August 3, but the date was pushed to August 17 due to a faculty member having contracted the virus.
The Center for Disease Control’s protocol is for anyone testing positive or having been around someone who has tested positive to self-quarantine for a 14 day period.
The number of positive numbers continue to rise daily, but seem to have slowed down some due to most following guidelines of wearing personal protective face covers.
