Cynthia Denise Thomas, 52, of Bradyville was arrested April 20 and charged with methamphetamine mfg/del/sell/possess. Sheriff Patrick Ray said a deputy was on marked patrol in the area of Short Mountain Highway when he observed a gold Grand Prix being driven on the same roadway. He asked for a registration through dispatch and the plate came back belonging to a different vehicle. He stopped Thomas, cited her for no driver’s license, no insurance and misuse of registration. He asked for consent to search the vehicle, and Thomas gave consent. In the driver’s seat in a cigarette case, the deputy found three separate baggies containing a white crystal substance believed to be meth. She admitted that the meth belonged to her. Her bond was set at $10,000, and she is to appear in court May 13, 2021.

Harry Carlson McIntosh, 43, of Smithville was arrested April 21 and charged with domestic assault, evading arrest, resist stop frisk halt search and violation of a protection order. A deputy responded to Old Bildad Road for a 911 hang-up. He made contact with a female who said she had active bond conditions against McIntosh. She stated that he had hit her with his fist in the face, her head and back of the head. When the deputy made contact with McIntosh he barricaded himself in a back bedroom. He then fled out the backdoor, which was in the room. The deputies gave him multiple verbal commands outside, which he disobeyed and fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended and placed in custody. His total bond was set at $27,000 but the judge revoked the bond and he was held in the jail. He will appear in court May 6, 2021.

Chasity Phillips Watson, 38, of Smithville was arrested April 21 for aggravated assault. On August 17, 2020 a deputy was dispatched to a physical domestic where a woman said she and her daughter had gotten into an argument over money. Her daughter, Watson, had hit her in the face causing a small cut. Allegedly, Watson then grabbed a wood handle kitchen knife and started toward her mother. Her bond was set at $4,500, and she is to appear in court May 6, 2021.

James Robert Upchurch, 41, of Smithville was arrested on April 23 for theft of property and criminal trespassing. Upchurch entered a property on Cookeville Highway without the owner’s consent and took a trail camera valued at $500. The camera was found on Upchurch. His bond was set at $2,000, and he is to appear in court May 13, 2021.

Allen Robert Lester, 32, of Smithville was arrested April 24 for immediate notice of accident. Lester was involved in an accident on Yolanda Hills Road hitting a mailbox causing property damage. He failed to stop. When he was stopped by a deputy he said he didn’t remember hitting anything but he could have. There were pieces of mirror found at the scene matching the damage to Lester’s vehicle. His bond was set at $2,000, and he is to appear in court May 13, 2021.

Jacob Owen Lackey, 37, of Smithville was arrested on April 25 and charged with violation of order of protection. A deputy was on marked patrol when he observed a maroon car approaching a stop sign. The car came to an abrupt stop when seeing the patrol car, and began backing up in the middle of the roadway the proceeded to turn into the parking lot of a convenience store. The male passenger was observed quickly opening the car door and walking into the store with a female walking behind him. Due to Lackey just leaving the car door open, the deputy waited on the two to exit the store. The deputy asked Lackey why he left the car door open. He then checked their identification where central dispatch found that Lackey had an active order of protection with the female. His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court May 6, 2021.  

Kayla Marie Evans, 31, of Smithville was written a citation on April 19 for violation of the light law, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The charges come after she was stopped for an inoperable tail light. She gave the deputy consent to search her vehicle where he found 2.75 grams of meth and a syringe. She is to appear in court May 6, 2021.

Brandon Caldwell, 39, of Dowelltown was written a citation on April 21 for no driver’s license, simple possession schedule II (morphine), driving on road way lane for travel and drug paraphernalia. A deputy pulled Caldwell over for swerving in and out of his lane multiple times. Caldwell was found to be driving without a license, also in the vehicle was a spoon with residue in it and two broken glass pipes. Also found was a pill, believed to be morphine. He is to appear in court May 6, 2021.
