Randal Eugene Tittle is accused of stealing over $10,000 worth of property from a Liberty storage facility.

A man who could have furnished his own home with the items he took is charged with stealing thousands of dollars in property during numerous break-ins at a storage facility in Liberty.

The man, Randal Eugene Tittle, 49, of Liberty is charged with five counts of burglary, five counts of theft and two counts of vandalism. He is being held under $135,500 bond and is set for arraignment Jan. 10.

His charges come after an investigation revealed it was Tittle who made numerous clandestine visits to a storage facility located in the Liberty community this past October. He gained access to the storage units by cutting the locks off the doors so he could help himself to the contents. His heists involved some heavy lifting as he stole household furnishings and appliances.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Tittle amassed quite a haul during his numerous visits to the facility, his combined thefts adding up to almost $15,000 worth of ill-gotten booty.

His biggest hit, which required a truck to move, included the theft of a gas top stove and generator, the one theft valued at $7,600. His next biggest heist involved generators and a pair of binoculars, the hit worth $3,575. He returned with a truck again, this time taking a washing, big screen television and a saddle, his third burglary worth $1,875.

Another break-in saw him take a pool table and dining room set, the combination worth $1,750. His last heist was a break-in where he took an air conditioner and tents worth $832.

It has not been revealed if Tittle had help lifting some of the heavy items he is accused of stealing or if he used his own elbow grease to spirit away the property.
