A man busted by his girlfriend for talking to another woman has been charged with domestic assault after a phone call led to a physical confrontation.
The suspect, Chase Lee Turner, 21, is charged with domestic assault and is due in court on Sept. 27.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, the female victim in the case told deputies the incident that led to her assault began when she went to Turner’s home on A.B. Frazier Road to pick up her car which she had let him borrow.
She said she found Turner asleep but his phone was ringing. “She looked at the phone and noticed it was another girl sending him a text message,” the sheriff said.
She told lawmen she woke Turner asked who the girl was that was sending him text messages. It was at that point she said Turner became aggressive toward her, trying to take her car keys. She said he blocked her from leaving, pushed her down and punched her several times, leaving marks.
