Carthage, TN The Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation announces Reggie Bowlin has been hired as the new Executive Vice President of Engineering Services, effective July 10, 2023.
Reggie has served in the electric utility industry for over 35 years in engineering, customer service, construction, and operations at Memphis Light, Gas, & Water (MLGW). Recently, he served as MLGW’s Manager of Systems Operations, directing the control and operation of the electric, gas, and water systems serving Memphis and the Shelby County area. He maintains strong partnerships with municipal and cooperative power companies and statewide associations across the Tennessee Valley.
He is a University of Tennessee in Knoxville graduate with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Memphis. Reggie is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Tennessee and is a NERC Certified Transmission Operator.
Reggie will be relocating from his home in Memphis to the Upper Cumberland area soon. As a "military brat," he's lived in several states and overseas. He enjoys college sports, golf, beaches, the outdoors, and travel. His daughter, Madison (Ole Miss 2017), is married and resides in Sydney, Australia. His son, Mitchell (University of Memphis 2022), recently turned a professional golfer.
As E.V.P. of Engineering Services, Reggie will provide leadership and technical expertise in the management of engineering functions of the cooperative.
UCEMC is owned by those it serves, with more than 51,000 cooperative members and more than 4,600 miles of power lines running through service areas in Smith, Putnam, Jackson, and Overton counties and fringe areas of DeKalb, Macon, Wilson, White, Clay, Fentress, and Pickett counties.
