A Warren County uncle faces contributing charges after he was caught getting drunk with his 13-year-old nephew.
The suspect, Christopher Ryan Inge, 34, of Morrison is charged with public intoxication, violation of the open container law and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
His charges come after police responded to Mapco Express earlier this week to investigate the call of a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived they found Ingle in the parking lot with a flat tire on his vehicle.
“The officer observed him to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and unsteady on his feet,” the arrest report reads, noting that Inge became agitated when the officer told him he would not be able to drive his vehicle due to the flat tire and would probably have to have it towed.
A further investigation found Inge’s 13-year-old nephew in the car and the officer discovered he had also been drinking. “His 13-year-old nephew was a passenger in the vehicle and was also intoxicated,” the officer said.
An open bottle of liquor was found inside the car. Inge was arrested on the spot. Police did not reveal if juvenile petitions were taken against the young teen.
