Adcock Cemetery Decoration

Banks Cemetery Decoration
The annual decoration at Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County will be held May 30th, May31t and June 1 2025. Please plan to attend. Your support is needed to keep the cemetery properly maintained and kept looking nice. Youth Center Open House
The Spot, a youth and family resource center, located at 425 Golf Club Drive in Smithville, will hold family open house on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1-4pm. There will be food, fun, prizes and making new friends. The center will be open every Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. For more information contact Kendra Cantrell 931-854-6172.
Summer Reading Program
The Justin Potter and Alexandria Libraries Summer Reading Program will begin on June 5th and end on June 26th. All events for both libraries will be in the DeKalb County Complex Theatre Room at 2:00 pm. Children of all ages can begin registering for Summer Reading at both libraries on May 27th. Each child that registers and meets their goal will receive a participation certificate and other goodies at the end of the Summer Reading Program. Program attendance in not required to participate.
Color our World programs include the following events: Thursday, June 5th at 2:00 pm – Opening party with Mr. Bond’s Science Guys and DTC Photobooth. Thursday, June 12th at 2:00 pm – Barry Mitchell’s “Show of Many Colors” Thursday, June 19th at 2:00 pm –. Edgar Evins State Park Rangers and Animal Friends. Thursday, June 26th at 2:00 pm – Final Party with The Nashville Zoo. 5K Fell Run
Join the New Frontiers 5K Fell Run! This event will be held at our beautiful property in Dowelltown. The route will take you through the hills of our camp with scenic overlooks and natural terrain. This is an intermediate race for ages 14 and up. All are welcome to attend and support runners! There will be awards, music, food, drinks, and more to follow the event! Registration closes May 16, 2025 at 5 PM. To ensure you get your shirt size please sign up before April 18th. All who are attending race day will need to have completed a waiver form. Veterans Service Officer Ready To Assist
Are you a veteran in need of assistance? DeKalb County has a Veteran’s Service Officer ready to help you, not only with filing claims, but for conversations about your service. Officer Erica Degni is located on the first floor of the DeKalb County Courthouse and is ready to offer assistance. She is available for in-office visits each Tuesday and Thursday or can be reached by calling 615-597-3003. DeKalb County appreciates the service of all veterans and is proud to provide this service.
