Who got arrested in this city this past week?

From a man slugging another man who didn’t want to do drugs with him to a man who was pinged for stealing a cellphone, Smithville Police saw it all over the past couple of weeks.

 

 

Matthew Allen White cited for theft and assault. According to the report, the victim met up to do some drugs. Upon the victim’s arrival, he and White went for a walk and the victim changed his mind and told White that he didn’t want to do drugs and White then reached back and punched the victim in the face and took $60 from him.The victim did have a cut on his left side of his face and his eye was red, consistent to a punch. Upon investigation, the detective spoke with White and cited him for the theft and assault.

 

Adam Michael Whitecotton, 21, was arrested for theft. Police responded to Center Hill Wine and Spirits due to a theft of a phone from the store. The victim informed the officers that a man can be seen on surveillance footage taking a phone without the victim’s consent, leaving the store intending to deprive her of the property. Using the myfriends app on another iPhone to ping the missing phones location, it showed as being at 625 Highland Street. The phone was recovered and returned to the victim. The officer arrested Whitecotton instead of citing him due to information that he was leaving the state soon.

 

Ricky Lane Evans, 48, was arrested for Child Neglect. Police were informed that Evans’ children had not been in school for two weeks and upon investigation it was discovered that one of the children was staying at a known drug house and Evans didn’t know her whereabouts.

 

Tres Donald Haney. 20, of Spencer was arrested for Public intoxication. Police responded to Webb’s Pharmacy in reference to a male subject walking around in circles behind the building talking to himself. Upon arrival, officers identified the male subject as Tres Haney. Officers observed Haney to have pin size pupils and red eyes. Haney was making statements that didn’t make sense and he couldn’t answer simple questions and would at multiple times give a blank stare. For his and the public’s safety, he was taken into custody without incident for Public Intoxication.

 

Nicholas Everette Fults, 23, was arrested for Aggravated Assault (Domestic). Police responded to the above address in reference to a domestic assault call. Upon arrival, the officer observed a red mark on the victim’s neck and discovered that Fults and the victim had been arguing and he then put the victim in a head lock choking her. The victim banged on the walls of the apartment trying to get neighbors to call 911.

 

Marcelino Desena Diaz, 45, was arrested for DUI and cited for Driver’s License Violation and Financial Responsibility. Police responded to a crash on Bright Hill Road and made contact with Diaz who was driving a red Ford truck that had crashed into a tree. The officer noticed a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breathe and he was unsteady on his feet. Due to a language barrier, field sobriety tasks couldn’t be performed and a blood search warrant was obtained.

 

Alfonzo Cortez Celaya, 59, was also arrested for Public Intoxication. Celaya was a passenger in the vehicle with Marcelino Diaz that crashed into a tree on Bright Hill Road. Celaya did exit the vehicle and the officer observed him to be unsteady on his feet, had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his persona, and would not follow directions.

 

Dominic Pasley, 20, was arrested on 5/26/19 for aggravated assault on a 17 year old female. Police responded to Fast Pace Medical Clinic due to an assault and observed the juvenile to have a red mark on her throat, a contusion on the left side of her face, broken blood vessels in her left eye and swelling on the right side of her face. A Fast Pace representative advised the parent of the victim to take her to St. Thomas ER for an x-ray due to the severity of the injury to her face. Police were informed that Pasley and the victim got into an argument that turned physical when Pasley grabbed the victim by the throat and shoved her into a wall then began to punch her multiple times in the face. Pasley was gone upon police arrival but later made contact with him at the PD where he was arrested for aggravated assault.

 

Angie Leanna Hollingsworth was arrested for Driving on Revoked and cited for lights on. Around 3 a.m. police observed a car on West Broad Street with no headlights or taillights and initiated a traffic stop. Upon a computer check with Central Dispatch it was revealed that Hollingsworth’s license to be revoked for DUI in 2018 and a prior DOR in 2017 for failure to pay fines.

 

Stephanie Michelle Mooneyham, 27, was cited for Criminal Trespassing. Police responded to 633 Restview in reference to Mooneyham being on the property. Mooneyham had been informed several times by residents and officers to not be back on the property.

 

David Lloyd Close, 54, was arrested for DUI 5th and cited for Driving on Revoked, Financial Responsibility, and Implied Consent. Police were notified by an off-duty officer that he had observed Close drinking in the Wal-Mart parking lot and had been informed that he (Close) didn’t have a driver’s license. Upon responding to Wal-Mart police observed Close driving a silver SUV and followed him out of the parking lot. After stopping the vehicle, Close couldn’t provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance. The officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Close couldn’t perform field sobriety tasks due to medical issues. A blood sample was obtained after getting a blood search warrant due to him refusing implied consent. Five empty beer cans and one opened beer can was found in the vehicle upon seizure.

 

Loretta Kay Sexton, 62, and Sandra Lee Sexton, 51, were arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Police made contact with Loretta Sexton outside of the Police Department while speaking with someone and Loretta kept driving by to harass the person the officer was speaking with and when the officer told her to leave the area, she then yelled curse words out the window being a nuisance to the public around her. A little while later Sandra Sexton came to the Police Department and walked towards the investigation and was told to leave the area several times. Sandra then turned and stopped in the middle of the road and wouldn’t move causing a hazard to other cars driving through the area.
