A man is dead after his wife shot him in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Sherriff Patrick Ray said on Sunday morning, November 15, at 12:42 am, DeKalb Central Dispatch was advised of a shooting on Lee Braswell Road. The woman caller advised she had shot her husband. Deputies of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department arrived on the scene at 12:50 am.

The man was taken by DeKalb EMS to Ascension Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital from the scene. He later died at the hospital.

The case is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. There has been no arrest. Agents are awaiting autopsy reports and further investigation into the case.   Besides TBI Agents, Sheriff Patrick Ray, Deputies and Detectives from the Sheriff's Department, District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway and a Detective from his Department were on the scene for assistance.
