Too wet to mow and too wet to plow this Saturday morning. Over an inch of rain yesterday and overnight has really dampened my spirits to get outside work done. Assuming what I've heard from the weather gal, more rain and thundershowers are in the forecast for us today. I do not have an excuse now for not cleaning on the house, so I'll just bite the bullet knowing I'll feel lots better after it is cleaned and looking a lot better. Decided to step out on the patio to enjoy my cup of coffee, before starting the housework. It is such a pleasant morning looking at the mountain and hearing so many different sounds of birds, and of course, that rooster crowing I've told you about before. Traffic noises going by the house but not enough to disturb my beautiful morning. You could almost think that this is a fall morning with the coolness in the air and a light wind coming through every now and then.
Went into the garage and got a couple bags of trash as my neighbor takes off my trash when he's taking off his. That is what friends do for each other. I have some good friends that are always looking out for me 24/7. I count my blessings for them being in my life. God puts friends in your life to help you so never take them for granted.
Columbo, my favorite detective, is on the tube with several episodes airing today. You know I'll have to take a few breaks from all the cleaning of the house and rest my tired body that has been working so hard and watch some of Columbo in the process. Let's see, there are some Ruffles potato chips in the cabinet to satisfy my hunger for something to munch on while enjoying the show. This could turn out to be a super good day for me after all.
Let's keep the following people in our prayers: Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Rose Watts, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Joe Gunter, Edna Hubler, Jeff Brown, Donald Ferrell, Paul Young, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of this country, and the families of Karen Taylor and Wanda Faye Byford.
Our upcoming weekend to be on the sultry side with temps in the middle nineties both days. The same hot temperatures will be around on Monday and Tuesday. There's only a slight chance of rain for the next several days. Looks like we're in for a heat wave. The dry weather, for a change, may be settling in on us. Hot weather like this can be dangerous especially to those that work outside. Try to check in on the elderly around you and also check pets to make sure they have water food and shade.
Melvin Ferrell doing well last week. Some vegetables in his garden are coming in. He's always working at something and sets a good example for all of us. Glad I got to chat with you for a while, Melvin.
Been pricing yard sale items and it takes a while especially if you've got plenty of items to sell. Beverly, like me, wants to get rid of so much stuff that we have collected since last summer. It can seem like a dauntless task at times, but perseverance will finally win out.
