Are you in the Christmas Mood?

Have you gotten in the Christmas mood yet? I think as a person gets older, it takes longer to do this. It hasn’t kicked in yet for me. Did manage to get our tree up and put some decorations on it. A pre-lit tree of clear lights just up mu alley as it saves you a lot of time. Candelabras with clear bulbs ae now in the windows, also lampposts not left out with wreaths with festive red bows attached securely with floral wire. The floral wire rates right up there with duct tape as you feel you can conquer anything even Mtn. Everest. Well, I wouldn’t go that far but it works wonders for me outside with flowers, decorations, and etc.

Smithville Church of God has a fabulous Christmas presentation Sunday, December 4. All the young people are to be commended for the hard work and dedication they put into the program. Jesus Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas as this is His birthday and for me, I might add it has and always will be "Merry Christmas" not the other made of nonsense some people have come up with to try and take Christ out of Christmas.

Regulars at Short Mountain Market here lately when I was there were Jeff Keaton/or Mouse as "Aubrey" nicknamed him, Bernie Braswell, Barry Bogle, Ronald Lawson, and Ricky Estes. All were doing well.

Everyday a blessing from God you are given so use it wisely. He owes us nothing we owe Him everything. Give Him praise and honor and never let a chance to tell others about Jesus slip by you.

We are still having rain this Tuesday and all totaled we have had a little over six inches or rain since last week. Hope Gatlinburg is East Tennessee get enough rain to help the firefighters trying to put out all those hot spots that might flare up and cause more heartache for the people that have lost so much. Keep them in your prayers. Others we need to pray for: the families in Chattanooga that have lost children in that bus crash and the other children that were hurt but survived the nightmare., also Michael "Moose" Nokes and wife Becky whose home burned last week. This could happen to any of us, so if you can help out in anyway, please do so. Seems like there are so many tragedies that have been happening lately.

Pleas also pray and help if possible the family whose mobile home burned last Sunday. I believe three people died in that fire. I knew it was a really bad fire as I left church, because so many people and emergency personnel were there trying to help those people get out to safety.

Charlie Mai Daniel, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, and Denise Stanton also need your prayers. Never doubt there is power in prayer.
