News from the Mountain
Hurricane Laura hit the gulf coasts of Louisiana and Texas on Thursday morning as a category 4 hurricane. Four deaths at last report in Louisiana. All the damage to homes and businesses will take months and even years to clean up and build back. Be praying for the people that have been affected by this powerful hurricane. We here will be experiencing remnants from Laura of rain, thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, and high winds in some locations Friday evening into Saturday.
One more weather event to tell you about. Australia got 3 feet of snow, no this is not a misprint last weekend 10 days before spring to arrive there. Kids sledding all over the place and having a terrific time. We would be paralyzed if we had that kind of snowfall wouldn’t we? Reported that this event wasn’t unusual for them.
The virus seems to still be slowing down in several areas now due I’m sure to people finally taking it more seriously and wearing the face masks wherever they go. Also, social distancing, using the hand sanitizers, and making sure they wash their hands more often is now paying off.
Let’s be praying for the family of brothers Frank and Carl Stembridge and also the family of Lincoln Burbanks, Blair 14 month old great-grandson of Naomi Blair.
Others to keep on your prayer list: Talmage Young, Dr. JC Wall, Charlie Mai Daniel, Rose Watts, Ronald Lawson, Etheelene Pedigo, Helen Nixon, Jeanette Smithson, and our country that needs to humble itself and acknowledge God and repent from its sins.
