Beautiful pumpkins and Mums

As you drive through town you cannot help but notice the different colors of pumpkins and mums at our local produce market. It is a beautiful sight I have never seen so many different color and sizes of pumpkins. And the mums are absolutely gorgeous. I also love to see the pansies set out in planters. The only problem with getting mums and pansies is that we are going to receive some very low temperatures in the coming weeks with some possible frost so cover them up.

This past week has been DCHS Homecoming week the student have dressed different for each day of the week. All the schools had days to dress in crazy attire. The Homecoming parade went by Smithville Elementary and Northside Elementary before coming to the town square. It is a sight to see with the floats, cars, football team and cheerleaders. And it is loud but it’s a good time for all who participate.

The days are getting shorter and nightfall is coming sooner. This is the only thing I do not like about fall back. You wake up and it’s dark and you go home and it’s dark. I would like to have the same time all year round. When you get up in the morning you think it is still dark and you feel like you should go back to bed. Then at night you feel you need to go to bed and its just 7 p.m.

Prayers for the families that have lost loved ones.

May God bless you all!
