A Boy Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Those are the 12 traits of the Boy Scout Law that members of Troop 347 cited at the Court of Honor Thursday, Oct. 12.
Scoutmasters Will and Jen Sherwood recognized the boys who had worked hard over the last several months during the candlelight ceremony. Zackary Cantrell moved up to his Star rank, and Kaleb Wildes earned his second-class rank.
Picking up merit badges were Gavin Conger—Metalwork, Game Design, Sculpture, and Robotics; Friedrich Dodge, Pioneering; Jake Ramsey-Personal Management and Aviation; Cody Robinson-Canoeing, Pioneering, Home Repairs and Aviation; Brenden Wagoner, Salesmanship and Swimming; Kaleb Wildes—Game Design, Woodcarving, and Swimming; Jacob Williams - Environmental Science, Aviation and Home Repair.
Robinson and Friedrich also were honored for their rimfire shooting skills at Boxwell Summer Camp in Gallatin. Their high degree of accuracy on targets qualified both of them for Sharpshooter, Marksman First-Class, and Pro-Marksman.
