Electricity was off Thursday morning for about eight minutes, but it sure seemed longer. You don't really know how much you appreciate electricity until you don't have it. With some of us panic sets in if we have to be somewhere, but if you can't shower or take a bath, it can make your life more difficult. Sometimes a person has to wing it and just not get down wind of anyone.
Ed, the zebra, that captured the limelight for a week or so has been captured! The news media joined in the chase to capture this wanted animal. I can't call him a criminal just because he's wearing stripes. They were what he was born with. Ed was checked out and he's fine. I'm glad of that and hope he's learned the err of his ways in making a run for it.
Another four-legged animal, a horse named Sovereignty, made the news Saturday winning the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown in horse racing.
Rioting in Los Angeles over immigration still raging this Monday morning. Why do people think burning everything in sight is the way to solve problems? If everyone showed their lack of intelligence in acting out this way America wouldn't be standing.
People are getting back into the swing of things by writing long-hand letters, personal notes, etc. once again. Some people, like me, have loved to keep in touch with family and friends that way for years. Whatever way you choose to communicate with people is your option, but for me there is a deeper meaning of caring, and thoughtfulness displayed with a letter, card or note than when a quick text is sent. The main thing here is keeping in touch with your loved ones by whatever means. We're all different and that makes us unique.
Gracie Bratcher and Mai Nell Melton are doing pretty good these days and still taking life one day at a time. It was a treat to talk with you gals. Rick and Beverly Hubler are doing well at the present time. Beverly and I are hoping to have a yard sale in the near future. Talked with Ann Warren on Friday. Everyone doing pretty good in her family. Ruth Brown quite chipper when chatting with her last week. Jeff, her son, still not feeling well. Please keep him in your prayers. Burley Bogle pretty lively himself Monday morning. He's like a lot of people and has too many irons in the fire in getting certain chores done in the day.
We have some people that are in need of prayer: Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Rose Watts, Edna Hubler, Joe Gunter, Jeff Brown, Donald Ferrell, Paul Young, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of this great nation, and the families of Karen Taylor and Wanda Faye Byford in the loss of their dear loved ones.
I've told you before, I believe Jesus will be coming back soon to get His children. This world is like Sodom and Gomorrah in so many places. People don't care or just don't realize the suffering and agony they will endure for eternity if they don't accept Jesus as their Savior.
Snakes seem to be more numerous this time of year with spring coming to an end June 21st and summer officially beginning. I've killed two of the slithering reptiles so far.
Have a great day!
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. II Timothy 3: 1-5
