Laura Caroline Carter was crowned the third Miss Country Sunshine last Saturday in the annual event held at Warren County High School. She was crowned by reigning Miss Country Sunshine Jaclyn Torrento, and 2012 Miss Tennessee Erin Hatley.
Carter is the 18 year-old daughter of Laura and John Carter, and performed a lyrical dance as her talent. She is a  2010 of DeKalb County High School and is a student at Motlow State Community College. She presented her platform on Eating Disorder Education and Awareness. Carter was also the winner in the lifestyle and fitness competition. 
Newly-crowned Miss Tennessee Erin Hatley emceed the pageant, and shared her Miss Tennessee experiences with the audience, as well as her preparations for Miss America competition coming up in January.
Carter will travel to Jackson next June to compete in the Miss Tennessee Pageant, and Tennessee Outstanding Teen Pageants, respectively.
The Miss Country Sunshine Scholarship Pageant is directed by Robert Farr.
