Charlee has a green thumb

New Home News with Barbara Ann Ervin

I hope everyone took advantage of the tax free weekend and bought some needed supplies and clothes for school. I bet it was hard to shop for school supplies this year with everyone going at the same time it would be hard to social distance. It is hard to social distance and wear a mask all the time. I try my best to do what is right. My daughter and son are in the medical field, son-in-law in banking and daughter-in-law in salon business. We all take careful precautions and I hope you do too.

The rain in the New Home community has everyone yards growing up quickly also the gardens. I know a lot of people have been canning tomatoes, salsa, spaghetti sauce, and peppers. I put up some corn on Saturday it was peaches and cream and every ear I shucked did not have one flaw in it beautiful corn. Of course in some gardens you have to get your mud boots on to get in there. I love fresh vegetables. And I say most people love a home grown tomato. My flowers on my deck are just beautiful, I cannot take credit for them my granddaughter, Charlee planted the flowers herself and water them when she comes over. But with all the rain they haven’t needed and extra water. I think she has a green thumb she will have to plant all my flowers.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church had a good turnout for Preaching in the park. It rained but no storming. Everyone enjoyed the singing and the preaching.

Remember these people in your prayers: The family of Carlon Miller, the family of Fredrick Roller, and the family of Lawrence Daw.

Please continue to pray for the ones that have lost loved ones. Pray for this world that it may turn away from sin and reach out to the Lord. Pray for the rioting, fighting, and the crimes that are committed.

May God bless you all!
