During the pandemic we have all been encouraged to social distance and minimize group gatherings in an effort to reduce the number of COVID cases. This makes it difficult to find outlets for socializing and recreation. The UT-TSU Extension office in DeKalb County, in partnership with St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital, provided the first ever virtual Chopped Challenge competition. Modeled after the popular Food Network channel show “Chopped”, participants prepared their dishes from home and provided the recipe and photo of the finished dish. For each round, participants are provided with a list of required ingredients and they can add other items to the recipe as they wish.

 Congratulations to the following winners:  Appetizer dish – Stephanie Baggett; Main Dish – Ethan Jenkins; and Dessert Dish – Lori Pryor. The final round winner was 1st Place:  Lori Pryor; 2nd Place:  Ethan Jenkins; and 3rd Place:  Stephanie Jenkins. Other participants included:  Heather Kazeleski, Jeania Cawthorn, Pamela Anderson, and Schree Tramel.
