The Coppertop Restaurant, located at Cove Hollow Marina near Center Hill Dam, has opened for the season with a new look and a new menu. The eatery, which floats on the lake just under eight miles out on Dale Ridge Road, has a new manager as well.John Heldenbrand, who has a storied history in the restaurant business, says that the menu change will consist of many made-from-scratch items, and that the emphasis will be less on fried foods than in the past.“We’re pretty much making the menu from scratch now,” Heldebrand told the Review.“We have steaks, chicken, appetizers and seafood, things the old menu had, but we are getting away from all the fried food somewhat.“We’re grilling, we’re sauteing, the menu should be much more diverse.“I will use a lot of the recipes I have formulated over the years, and the menu will contain a few surprises.”Originally from Indiana, Heldenbrand has worked in food service management in Colorado, North Carolina, Michigan and Atlanta.
