Curing memory loss illness

Do your mornings consist of waking up late, running around to get dressed, trying to remember things to take to work (or wherever else you’re headed.)trying to recall all the things yesterday that went through your mind that you have to do today?  Or, what about the wonderful trip to the store where you walk in and forget every single item that you even went in for?  Well, I have a sure-fire way to cure this “Memory Loss Illness.”  It’s an amazing new product that not many people know about; it’s called a “To Do List.”  I’ll give you a second to take that in as I’m sure it may be shocking to some.
A TDL (To Do List) is a list, on any form of paper, which simply lists things that you need to do for the day.  For some reason ,I always remember things that need to be donem right before I go to bed, or as I’m lying in the bed; therefore, I’ve learned to keep a small notepad on my desk and as I think of things, I simply write them on the pad and then forget about them.  For example, let’s say I make dinner and put some leftovers in a plate, for work the next morning.  Well, most mornings I barely make it out of the house due to the lack of coffee before making it to the office, so I normally forget just about anything I need for that day.  This is when the TDL comes in handy.  I will write at the top of the list, “Lunch in fridge,” and then I place the pad next to my keys and wallet.  That way, when I go to grab my keys to leave, I will see the list and remember my lunch.  It works every time!
I am the world’s worst for writing a check for a bill, putting it in an envelope, addressing it and then forgetting about it until two or three days later.  Well, not anymore, because I have a TDL!  I write a reminder about the bill needing to be mailed and I always get it mailed.  It’s like having my own personal assistant!
If you’re computer savvy, then there are some great websites to check out that will help you create a TDL, but one of my favorites is Cozi.com.  I sign up all my clients with this website and teach them how to use it.  The website was created by mothers for mothers, but can be used by anyone.  The last time I checked I was not a mom, but they still let me join.  The website is free and offers some great services.  There is a calendar, a TDL, a shopping list, and even a section where you can create a Family Newsletter to email or print, to send to your friends and family.  The cool thing about the Calendar section is that you can put in your cell phone number in your profile (which no one can see except you) and you will receive a text reminding you of upcoming appointments or important dates in your planner.  You can also download the app for Cozi on a Smart Phone (Blackberry, Droid, iPhone, etc.) and view/edit the entire website from your phone.
I went to the store the other day and had made a list on Cozi, of things I needed to purchase, and of course I forgot every item except one. But, never fear for Cozi is here!  I pulled out my phone, opened the application and could view my shopping list while standing in the store!  You can even check off the items as you put them in your cart.  But, let’s say you don’t have a Smart Phone; well, you can call a toll-free number and they will either read your list or text you the list straight to your phone.  It’s like magic!  The best part of all is that Cozi is absolutely, 100% FREE!  There is no charge to sign up and no charge to continue using the services they provide!
My challenge to you this week is to check out Cozi.com and set up an account.  I can almost guarantee you will love it!  I’d love to hear your feedback on it as well.  Find me on Facebook under “Saving Dollars & Making Sense” and let me know what you think!
