DeKalb County High School erects Wall of Honor
THe Wall

Thanks to a Hometown Help Grant, written by Lisa Craig, DCHS has a wall to honor those who are currently serving or have served in the military.

Climate Crew teamed up with the Tiger Independance Program, ran by Mr. Daniel Seber, and the maintenance department to get the wall put up.  (Climate Crew is a club aimed at improving the school climate by encouraging students to treat everyone kindly, take pride in their school, and serve their community.)

The right side of the wall is for current students that have enlisted in the military. The pictures that you see are the students that graduated last year and enlisted to serve.  We will add current students to the Honor Wall as they enlist.  The left side is for engraved plates to honor the DCHS alumni that have served or are currently serving in the military.

If you would like to add yourself or a loved on to the military wall, you can bring a $5 donation to DCHS.  You may bring it to the high school and pay Mrs. Jamie Cripps, Mrs. Sara Young, or Coach Cagle.  We need the name, year of graduation from DCHS, and branch of the military they served or are serving in.

There are eight alumni that have served or are currently serving that are already on the honor wall.  The school is also working on adding pictures of Billy Anderson and Shannon Taylor to the alumni wall.

The eight alumni shown are Justin Gohs, Harley Sloan, Bryan Escobar, Alberto Lucio, Gene Autry, Major Richard Scott Emmons, Stephen Allan Robertson and Joshua Stanton Howe.
