DeKalb County has been featured in a vacation article.

DeKalb County and Smithville have been featured in the Tennessee Vacation Guide, the in-depth article listing the area as a premiere tourist destination.

“I appreciate all the folks and businesses that made him feel so welcome,” said Chamber of Commerce Director Suzanne Williams of the writer’s visit July 19 to DeKalb County for research on his article.

The writer, Andrew Saucier, is the Tennessee Department of Tourism Development Content Creator. During his visit, he toured many vacation spots in the area and broke them out into individual stories in his enterprise piece.

“Summertime in Tennessee means hitting the lake; and Center Hill Lake is one of Middle Tennessee’s most beautiful. Situated on the rolling hills surrounding Center Hill Lake’s shores is Smithville, a must-add to your trip,” he wrote in his article.

Among the areas he visited were Evins Mill, Button Willow General Store and Coffee Shop, Webb’s Pharmacy Gift Shop and Soda Fountain, Twisted Oaks, The Burlap Room Beer Garden and Tap House, the Appalachian Center for Craft, Blue Water Grill on the Hill, the Retreat at Center Hill, and Hurricane Marina.
